Trust Your Doctor’s Advice—It Could Save a Life!
Dear Parents,
I want to share a quick story from my medical school days that highlights why trusting your doctor can make all the difference. We had a young boy admitted with severe dehydration. Despite our advice, his parents took him home early, only to return later when it was too late. It’s a heartbreaking reminder that even when the treatment seems tough, it’s often necessary.

Weekly Health Tip: Stay Alert to Dehydration!
Dehydration can sneak up on kids faster than you might expect, especially when they’re sick. Here are a few quick tips to keep dehydration at bay:
Offer fluids frequently: Even if your child isn’t asking for drinks, encourage small sips of water, oral rehydration solutions, or clear broths.
Watch for signs: Dry mouth, lethargy, sunken eyes, and decreased urine output are all warning signs.
Don’t wait: If your child shows signs of severe dehydration, such as extreme drowsiness or inability to keep fluids down, seek medical attention immediately.
Remember, early intervention can prevent complications and help your child recover faster.
